Blunt Applauds Senate Action to Restore Full Slate of FEC Commissioners

WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Roy Blunt (Mo.), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, released the following statement today after the Senate voted to confirm Allen Dickerson, Shana M. Broussard, and Sean J. Cooksey to the Federal Election Commission:

“The Federal Election Commission plays a critical role in ensuring the integrity of our campaign finance system. I’m glad the Senate has taken action to restore a full slate of commissioners to the FEC, which has been without a complete panel since February 2017. With all six commissioners in place, the FEC will be stable, politically balanced, and able to fulfill its most important functions.”

Dickerson, Broussard, and Cooksey were favorably reported out of the Rules Committee by voice vote on December 3. A nomination hearing was held on November 18.
